The HBZT DISAble function is used to make a HostBridge for zIIP (HBz) Server unavailable for use in a CICS region.

When a DISAble is performed, the following occurs:

  • The Server being DISAbled is STOPped (if it is already STARted)
  • The Task-Related User Exit (TRUE) associated with the Server is disabled  

The format of the HBZT DISAble command is:

HBZT DISA(,Serverid)

where Serverid is the name of an HBz Server (such as the installation defaults BASE or JSE).

The Serverid parameter is required.

When you invoke the DISAble function by typing in:

and press the Enter key, you will see a screen similar to:

You will see messages showing that the following actions were performed:

  • The STOPping of the Server
  • The DISAbling of the associated TRUE
  • The unpublishing of the TRUE 

If the DISAble function is invoked in any of the following situations:

  • When HBz is not INITialized
  • When the Serverid is not specified
  • When the Serverid is invalid

the following error message will appear:

You should then press the Enter key to be able to invoke further HostBridge functions.

If an attempt is made to DISAble a Server that is already DISAbled, the following message will appear:

You should then press the Enter key to be able to invoke further HostBridge functions.
