The HBZT STATus function is used to display various characteristics and pieces of information about a HostBridge for zIIP (HBz) Server in a CICS region.

The format of the HBZT STATus command is:

HBZT STAT(,Serverid)

where Serverid is the name of an HBz Server (such as the installation defaults BASE or JSE).

The Serverid parameter is required.

When you invoke the STATus function by typing in:

and press the Enter key, you will see a series of screens similar to:

You will see:

  • The current status of the Server
  • The location and length of the global work area (GWA) associated with the task-related user exit (TRUE) for the Server
  • Selected pieces of information within the GWA
  • The directives associated with the Server, as found in PARMLIB members HBZ@+Serverid and HBZ@+Sysid

If the STATus function is invoked in any of the following situations:

  • When HBz is not INITialized
  • When the Serverid is not specified
  • When the Serverid is invalid

the following error message will appear:

You should then press the Enter key to be able to invoke further HostBridge functions.

If an attempt is made to issue a STATus command for a Server that is disabled, the following message will appear:
