The HBZT STOP function is used to make a HostBridge for zIIP (HBz) Server unavailable to process work requests.

In addition, the task-related user exit (TRUE) associated with the STOPped Server is disabled.

The format of the HBZT STOP command is:

HBZT STOP(,Serverid)

where Serverid is the name of an HBz Server (such as the installation defaults BASE or JSE).

The Serverid parameter is required.

When you invoke the STOP function by typing in:

and press the Enter key, you will see a screen similar to:

The messages show the successful stopping of the Server and its associated TRUE, and then shows its current status.

If the STOP function is invoked in any of the following situations:

  • When HBz is not INITialized
  • When the Serverid is not specified
  • When the Serverid is invalid

the following error message will appear:

You should then press the Enter key to be able to invoke further HostBridge functions.

If an attempt is made to STOP a Server that is already STARted, the following message appears:

You should then press the Enter key to be able to invoke further HostBridge functions.
